Today is January 22, 2009. On this day 36 years ago abortion on demand became the law of our land. Since then we have put to death 40,000,000 of our children. Do you care?

I can hardly believe the day has come and on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade no less. I must confess my surprise that deliverance would come under our new president Barack Obama but alas, it has. Did you miss the news? If we can take President Obama at his word today we can expect soon the end of the practice of abortion. Here is his statement:
“First, I can say without exception or equivocation that the United States will not torture…
How we have prayed for this, the day when America would recognize the torture it has inflicted on others. Since 1973 we have tortured and murdered over 40,000,000 of our children. Let us all rejoice that today we came to recognize that torture is wrong and have committed ourselves to torture no more.
Imagine, no more:
Suction Aspiration: “General or local anesthesia is given to the mother and her cervix is quickly dilated. A suction curette (hollow tube with a knife-edged tip) is inserted into the womb. This instrument is then connected to a vacuum machine by a transparent tube. The vacuum suction, 29 times more powerful than a household vacuum cleaner, tears the fetus and placenta into small pieces which are sucked through the tube into a bottle and discarded.”
Dilation and Curettage (D&C): “This method is similar to the suction method with the added insertion of a hook shaped knife (curette) which cuts the baby into pieces. The pieces are scraped out through the cervix and discarded [Note: This abortion method should not be confused with a therapeutic D&C done for reasons other than pregnancy.]”
Dilation and Evacuation (D&E): “This method is used up to 18 weeks gestation. Instead of the loop-shaped knife used in D&C abortions, a pair of forceps is inserted into the womb to grasp part of the fetus. The teeth of the forceps twist and tear the bones of the unborn child. This process is repeated until the fetus is totally dismembered and removed. Usually the spine must be snapped and the skull crushed in order to remove them.”
Salt Poisoning (Saline Injection): “Used after 16 weeks (four months) when enough fluid has accumulated. A long needle injects a strong salt solution through the mother’s abdomen into the baby’s sac. The baby swallows this fluid and is poisoned by it. It also acts as a corrosive, burning off the outer layer of skin. It normally takes somewhat over an hour for the baby to die from this. Within 24 hours, labor will usually set in and the mother will give birth to a dead or dying baby. (There have been many cases of these babies being born alive. They are usually left unattended to die. However, a few have survived and later been adopted.)”
Prostaglandin Chemical Abortion: This form of abortion uses chemicals developed by the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Co. which cause the uterus to contract intensely, pushing out the developing baby. The contractions are more violent than normal, natural contractions, so the unborn baby is frequently killed by them — some have even been decapitated. Many, however, have also been born alive.
Hysterotomy or Caesarean Section Used mainly in the last three months of pregnancy, the womb is entered by surgery through the wall of the abdomen. The technique is similar to a Caesarean delivery, except that the umbilical cord is usually cut while the baby is still in the womb, thus cutting off his oxygen supply and causing him to suffocate. Sometimes the baby is removed alive and simply left in a corner to die of neglect or exposure.
Partial-Birth Abortion: Five steps to a partial birth abortion:
- Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby’s legs with forceps.
- The baby’s leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
- The abortionist delivers the baby’s entire body, except for the head.
- The abortionist jams scissors into the baby’s skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the skull.
- The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child’s brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.

In the majority position of the Supreme Court decision (pp.7-8) that upheld the ban on Partial Birth Abortion Justice Kennedy made reference to this description of Partial Birth Abortion by a nurse who participated in the torture:
“Dr. Haskell went in with forceps and grabbed the baby’s legs and pulled them down into the birth canal.Then he delivered the baby’s body and the arms everything but the head. The doctor kept the head right inside the uterus. . . .
The baby’s little fingers were clasping and unclasping, and his little feet were kicking. Then the doctor stuck the scissors in the back of his head, and the baby’s arms jerked out, like a startle reaction, like a flinch, like a baby does when he thinks he is going to fall.
The doctor opened up the scissors, stuck a high-powered suction tube into the opening, and sucked the baby’s brains out. Now the baby went completely limp. . . .
He cut the umbilical cord and delivered the placenta. He threw the baby in a pan, along with the placenta and the instruments he had just used.”
Were you aware that these are the types of things we have been doing to our children for the last 36 years?
I do not rejoice at the thought of anyone being mistreated or harmed but when I watched the President today make his announcement with all the implied disdain for methods used to get information from detainees at Guantanamo Bay I was angered. America is not going to torture? Strapping a man on board and submerging him in water is torture but the above murderous procedures are not?
How righteous and smug the new administration was today, they have corrected our tortuous ways. Be very afraid children, never has such a large collection of infant murder supporters been gathered together and given authority.
Already we see that President Obama is at work in the abortion realm as Fox News reports: “President Obama will issue an executive order on Thursday reversing the Bush administration policy that bans the use of federal dollars by non-governmental organizations that discuss or provide abortions outside of the United States.”
When President Obama was campaigning he made a promise to sign into law the Freedom Of Choice Act (FOCA). You need to make yourself familiar with this repeal of nearly every restriction that we have succeeded in imposing on infant murder.
I refuse to have the false charge of being unpatriotic keep me from revealing the sinful, murderous reality of what is being done by our country. Multitudes today believe that we have purged sin and ascended in righteousness, America no longer tortures we are told. Yes, we do.

Psalm 146:3 “Do not trust in princes, in mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.”
My question is very simple, “How much control did the believers of the New Testament era have over the government that ruled them?” The answer: virtually none. Here is another question, “What accusation did the non-believing world make against the Christians of the first century?”
Acts 17:6 “These who have turned the world upside down have come here too.”
How could this be? You mean that the Caesars of the first century were not Christians? There was not a Christian/conservative majority in the Roman senate? Believers were not collecting signatures on petitions against ungodly laws? How could they ever have turned the world upside down without any hand on the political steering wheel? Could it be that their faith was in God?
We are well into another election cycle and I grieve. American Christians are blind, blind to the fact that we have reduced the Christian faith down to a political movement. Oh, we are in high places no doubt. We are rubbing shoulders and throwing weight around. Someone please tell me what this has all done to promote and further the gospel.
What does the average unbeliever think of Christianity in our nation today? They believe it is all about political control and power. Who are we winning? I believe with all my heart that what we have done these past few decades is something to be repented of. Our trust is in princes and the power of this world. Who are we kidding? In what way are we turning the world upside down? We are powerless and our political grasping is proof that it is so.
What matters to us is the Supreme Court, control of Congress and the White House. What will we have if we were to have all these? We will still have a nation of people estranged from God but by golly, we’re going to legislate them into the kingdom. We have nearly forfeited our opportunity to share the gospel of Christ, hardly anyone believes that this is what we are after anymore. The unbeliever thinks to himself, “This is about you imposing your way of life on me” and he is right. We are not after heart change and knowledge of Christ, if we were our reliance would be on God not on political power.
I come to my questions again. Someone please tell me how the Christians of the New Testament turned the world upside down without relying on political power? Why are we not seeking the power that they had? How have we come to think that we have found a better way? Thank God that His purposes cannot be thwarted despite how determined His people are to do so.

Isaiah 66:2 “But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.”
I would like to ask you what may seem to be a foolish question. Ready, here it is… “Do you want to hear from God?” Most I’m sure would respond, “Of course I do.”
It is our great privilege as Christians to be people with whom God has chosen speak.
That having been said I think we need to be honest, hearing from God is not always pleasant. When most say that they want to hear from God I fear that they mean that they want to hear from Him as long as He is going to say the things they want Him to: “You’re fine”, “They’re wrong”, “No, I would never ask you to make such a sacrifice”, “Of course I’ll heal you” are all things we are quite willing to hear from God.
I am reminded of this incident from the life of the people of Israel; they said they wanted to hear from God and asked Jeremiah to bring them God’s Word:
Jeremiah 42:2-6 “Please let our petition come before you, and pray for us to the Lord your God…that the Lord your God may tell us the way in which we should walk and the thing that we should do.” Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, ‘I have heard you. Behold, I am going to pray to the Lord your God in accordance with your words; and I will tell you the whole message which the Lord will answer you. I will not keep back a word from you.’ Then they said to Jeremiah, ‘May the Lord be a true and faithful witness against us if we do not act in accordance with the whole message with which the Lord your God will send you to us. Whether it is pleasant or unpleasant, we will listen to the voice of the Lord our God to whom we are sending you, so that it may go well with us when we listen to the voice of the Lord our God.’”
But guess what happened when Jeremiah brought the people God’s message?
Jeremiah 43:1-2 “But as soon as Jeremiah, whom the Lord their God had sent, had finished telling all the people all the words of the Lord their God…all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah, ‘You are telling a lie! The Lord our God has not sent you to say, ‘You are not to enter Egypt to reside there.’”
Did the people want to hear from God? Only if God was going to tell them what they wanted to hear. May God save us from being this way.
When it comes to hearing from God there is something very important to keep in mind, His voice may come from anywhere at anytime, often through means we would least expect and this is on purpose.
When God speaks He sends with His Word a humility test, to see how willing we are to hear Him. He does this often by speaking to us through people, means and situations that we might if we are not careful reject out of pride.
God sent His people Moses who was slow of speech. It was said of Paul that “his personal presence is unimpressive and his speech contemptible” (2 Corinthians 10:10).
God rebuked Abraham for lying through a pagan king (Genesis 20:9), rebuked the prophet Balaam using a donkey (Numbers 22:30) and encouraged Elijah not through powerful demonstrations but a “gentle whisper” (1 Kings 19:12).
God may bring us His truth through the frankness of a child or spouse. He may remind us of our duty through the appearing of the socially undesirable in our life. God may even reveal His will through a politician that you personally disagree with and disdain. Are you willing to hear God however it is He may choose to speak to you?

I am convinced that the Christian faith calls me to be kind and loving toward homosexuals yet my personal responsibility toward individual homosexuals must not keep me from declaring this behavior sinful and standing against it. The immediate charge against Christians regarding our Biblical position is that we are hateful, bigoted and judgmental. The charge that we are making a judgment I cannot deny this we are commanded to do by Jesus Himself (though I view this as something different than being “judgmental”):
John 7:24 “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
Where the Bible does not condemn we must not condemn but where it speaks clearly, we as Christians must speak clearly. Hear God’s Word, it is not ambiguous or halting in stating God’s thoughts about sexual behavior between those of the same sex:
Romans 1:18-27
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.”
1 Timothy 1:8-10 “But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers 10 and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching…”
The Scriptures are where we take our stand as Christians and we are reviled for it which is fine, Jesus told us that if the world hated Him it would hate us too (John 15:18-19).
The more I have thought about this issue the more I marvel that people do not seem to take into account homosexuality’s condemnation of itself. Without me uttering a word as a Christian is it not evident that homosexuality is sinful and wrong? Does not the fact that it leads to disease and death reveal something about the nature of this behavior? When a man and woman join together in marriage and commit themselves to one another exclusively, we do not see disease and death in fact we see the creation of new life. When two men or two women have sex we do see disease and death, “…receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.”
Some will immediately ask how we are seeing death through sex between two women, have you ever heard of something called extinction? Have you ever considered that homosexuality places itself on a course of self-elimination? If practiced by all, homosexuality would lead to extinction; the act itself would bring about its own end. The response of homosexuals is that not everyone practices this behavior therefore we needn’t fear extinction but this is skirting the issue isn’t it? If homosexuality is good should it not be commendable to all? But immediately we realize this cannot be for if all were to adopt it soon there would be no one left.
The Christian’s chief responsibility is to preach the sinfulness of this behavior on the authority of Scripture but we are foolish to ignore the obvious, homosexuality is in conflict with itself, it condemns itself, it would in the logical end, end itself. Don’t be angry with the Christian for proclaiming the Word of truth that is only validated in the undeniable outcome of homosexuality.

This billboard has been placed by the Manhattan Mini-Storage in New York (see news story here). How often we have held before us the coat hanger in regard to the abortion debate. What we are told is that women will be forced to resort to using coat hangers to abort their children if the murderous practice is not made available through medical facilities. I wonder, is this plea (which is actually a threat) supposed to invoke sympathy from us? Am I to feel sympathy for a woman who is so determined to end the life of another that she will resort to using a coat hanger to accomplish her goal?
The coat hanger is a symbol of the evil that undergirds infanticide. “We will kill our babies no matter what it takes.” If you have never done so can I urge you to stop and ponder the threat to kill a child with a coat hanger? “Instead of loving and raising my child I would rather kill him with a coat hanger.” “Instead of giving birth to my child and allowing someone to adopt him, I will kill him with a coat hanger.” “I would rather kill my child with a coat hanger than tell my parents I’m pregnant.” “I would rather kill my child with a coat hanger than have my career interrupted.” “I would rather kill my child with a coat hanger than face the consequences of my decisions.”
Women are apparently very concerned about their health, without end we hear about the health of the mother as a justification for abortion. Though it is more than probable that a pregnant woman will deliver her child without difficulty and could give them up for adoption we are told that women will risk their health and lives by jamming a coat hanger inside themselves to end their pregnancy. I’m not sure that health is nearly as important as is claimed. I have posted previously but include again here a quote from former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop:
Protection of the life of the mother as an excuse for an abortion is a smoke screen. In my thirty-six years in pediatric surgery I have never known of one instance where the child had to be aborted to save the mother’s life.

When a woman is pregnant, her obstetrician takes on the care of two patients—the mother-to-be and the unborn baby. If, toward the end of the pregnancy complications arise that threaten the mother’s health, he will take the child by inducing labor or performing a Caesarian section. His intention is still to save the life of both the mother and the baby. The baby will be premature … The baby is never willfully destroyed because the mother’s life is in danger. (C. In the abortion debate the coat hanger is a threat; women (and the sinful men who support them) are determined to see children killed. This is what is implied is it not, “If you will not provide me the means to take my child’s life, I will do it myself”? God, the Bible tells us has a special judgment for women who shed blood:
Ezekiel 16:38 “Thus I will judge you like women who commit adultery or shed blood are judged; and I will bring on you the blood of wrath and jealousy.”
Abortionists threaten with the coat hanger, here is my reply and I refer to it not as a threat but a fact. You will see that coat hanger again; it will be in your hand when you stand before the God in whose image the child you murdered was created.
Dear God,
Many people visit this post who have done a search about how to kill their baby with a coat hanger. If it would be that one of them are reading today would you grant them to see that their child is made in your image? Give them the faith and courage they need to do what is right, keep them from shedding innocent blood. Provide them with the help that they need. Give them a Christian friend to support them. You can help them Lord. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Colossians 1:13-14
“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
In the early 1990′s I was granted by God to understand and embrace the Doctrines of Grace, simply put, the fact that God is sovereign and man is totally incapable of saving himself. This truth is a bone that I cannot seem to release from my teeth. By bone I mean what I come to chew on again and again in my dealings with man in his need. Man has a bone to be picked with if he is going to be saved and as I look on a Godless, unsaved world I am more convinced than ever that the message that man needs to hear from the Church is that God alone saves: we are “dead in our trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2:5) and are incapable of even the slightest movement toward God without Him first choosing us (Ephesians 1:4) than granting (John 6:65) us to come to Him.
I am weary of hearing man speak of his “free will”, how blind we are to the fact that we are not free but slaves to sin (John 8:34), until the Son sets us free (John 8:36). My challenge to the one who claims to be free in regard to spiritual things is to stop sinning. If you have a free will then exert the freedom and stop sinning.
The passage quoted from Colossians above is another clear proof of the slavery of man making clear his need of God to rescue him. The Bible tells us plainly in these verses that mankind can be reduced down to two categories, those who dwell in the domain of darkness or the kingdom of the Son of God. Notice the two words, “domain” and “kingdom”, what is implied in both? That the inhabitants of these two realms have a ruler over them. Man is continually boasting that he is his own master, that he is free in regard to God and Satan, that he can actually maintain a place between the two of them and does not have to choose one or the other unless he decides to. Blind, foolish man, you don’t see the truth about yourself. Domains and kingdoms are by definition places that have a ruler over them, the inhabitants of these places are not in charge, their king/master is.
Who rules the domain of darkness? Satan. The Kingdom of the beloved Son? God. Let every man know that he resides in one of these two places at this very moment. You are not the captain of your destiny man and you are not free to go wherever you will, you are one who is ruled. Satan being the deceiver is quite willing to let man think otherwise though. He does not insist on drawing attention to his lordship yet, he is actually quite willing to give man enough rope to blind his eyes to the truth that he has been captured.
The modern day Church has not been of help in this matter. The gospel often preached is peppered with untruth. We actually exalt the will of man in the modern gospel and tell men that God has laid His will down at our feet to allow us to do what we will. There is no question that being damned or saved involves a choice but this doctrine teaches us two things: First, fallen man will choose nothing but damnation if left to himself and second, that a man’s decision to be saved is always preceded by God’s choice of Him which requires God to free him from the bondage of his sin and the domain of darkness in which he is imprisoned.
Listen to the language in these verses…are we told that a person makes a choice to leave the domain of darkness and then waltzes out as it were into the kingdom of Christ? Is this simply a matter of exerting his will and “viola” he is in a new place? Not according to the Bible, “For He rescued us…” Salvation is not man moving himself from one kingdom to another, it is God breaking into one kingdom and unshackling a person and blasting His way back out through the enemy’s territory, carrying the prisoner on His shoulder until the gate of His kingdom is reached and the prisoner is safely inside.
Another interesting word is chosen to describe salvation; sinners are “transferred” to the kingdom of Christ. Transferred? This a term that we use with prisoners isn’t it? Prisoners are transferred from one facility to another. Do these prisoners transfer themselves? Do they motion and prison doors open and do they gesture to electronic gates and find them to open wide simply because they want to leave? No, for a transfer to take place an officer must go in who has authority to move the prisoner. In no way can the prisoner be said to have effected their transfer, it has been done by others who have the authority to do so.
A great many people will never be rescued because they refuse to accept the fact that they are not free but prisoners. Far from seeing themselves subjects of one kingdom or another they believe they are their own masters. It is only when God opens the eyes of an unsaved person that they come to see the truth about their status. It only when someone sees that sin and Satan have taken them captive that they will cry out “Christ, save me, rescue me.” The gospel is generally scorned and rejected and this is because men do not see the truth about their condition and standing. Jesus is rejected as Savior because most do not see themselves in danger and in need of rescue.
To be saved I must first be humbled by God, it is necessary for Him to strip me of every notion that I possess any goodness or freedom apart from Him. This humbling does not produce resentment in the one being saved, it is a blessed humbling, a humbling that saves. Once I have been saved I do not resent being told that I am a creature that must be ruled by one or another. I do not resent being told that I have no power or willingness, it is true and I know now that it is true and I embrace it, grateful to Christ that He rescued me.
If these things are true, who then receives the glory for man’s salvation? God alone. How can a man who was a prisoner boast of having to be rescued from a domain that kept him enslaved? Any other view of salvation makes it possible for man at some level to say that he did something to contribute to his salvation, he can boast of his choice, his willingness, his decision to enter the kingdom of Christ. This must never be for it is not so.
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
1 Corinthians 1:30-31 “But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.”"

1 Corinthians 4:6 “I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written…”
In preparation for messages I would bring during Christmas week a passage of Scripture caught my attention, I found it especially interesting in light of my Roman Catholic upbringing:
Matthew 1:24-25 “And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife, but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus.”
What especially interested me in this verse was the word, “until”. When I read this verse taking words at their face value I am told that Joseph did not have marital relations with Mary “until” she gave birth to her Son, Jesus. The meaning of this statement should not cause difficulty, while Mary was carrying Jesus in her womb, Joseph did not have intercourse with her and what is more than implied is that after she gave birth to Jesus, he did.
Those of you who are familiar with Roman Catholic doctrine know that the perpetual virginity of Mary is a pillar of Catholicism. The all-important question of course is can this doctrine bear the scrutiny of Scripture. The verse from Matthew listed above gives us great reason to believe that Mary did not remain a virgin after the birth of Jesus. Interestingly, Catholic teaching is that Mary’s virginity remained intact even through delivery:
“The deepening of faith in virginal motherhood led the Church to confess Mary’s real and perpetual virginity even in the act of giving birth to the Son of God made man. In fact, Christ’s birth did not diminish his mother’s virginal integrity but sanctified it.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church: The Profession of Faith, section 2, #499)
If the Bible would have us believe that Mary was a virgin perpetually, why does it not read, “But kept her a virgin perpetually” or even, “But kept her a virgin”?
While reading apologists for Mary’s perpetual virginity I find some saying that the word “until” can mean “not anymore” or “forever”. They quote Genesis 8:7: “And he (Noah) sent out a raven, and it flew here and there until the water was dried up from the earth.” (Until meaning here that the raven did not return anymore Catholic apologists point out). Another passage mentioned by perpetual virginity apologists is Psalm 110:1: “The LORD says to my Lord: ‘Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” (Argument: Are protestants saying that God will only allow Christ to sit at His right hand until His enemies are defeated and not after?)
How are we to respond to these defenses? Well, we admit that “until” can mean “not anymore” or “forever”, but what is “until’s” common usage? It is a marker of shift in action, someting was not happening, now it is. To summon Psalm 110 is to refuse to think about the passage at hand. “Until” in Psalm 110 is communicating that God the Father has taken up the work of retribution on behalf of His Son against His enemies which will culminate at a certain point when they are defeated forever. I read this week that Ms. Magazine is publishing the name of 5000 women who submitted their signatures to declare that they have had abortions (See article here). Katherine Spillar, executive editor of Ms. said, “…more than 5,000 women have signed the petition so far — heeding its appeal to declare they are unashamed of the choice they made.”
Paul speaks in the book of Philippians about those whose glory is their shame. The god of this world has blinded the minds of these women who are murderers and proud of it. Join me in shuddering as you read the following quote from one signatory, Tyfinne Jones found in this segment of the article:
Tyffine Jones, 27, of Jackson, Miss., said she had no hesitation about signing — although she lives in a state where restrictions on abortion are tough and all but one abortion clinic has been closed.
Jones said she got an abortion 10 years ago — enduring harassment from protesters when she entered the clinic — in order to finish high school. She went on to become the first member of her family to graduate from college, and hopes at some point to attend law school.
“I wanted to do something bigger with myself — I didn’t want to be stopped by anything,” she said in a telephone interview.
The smoke and odor of hell exude from this statement.
What a horrible thing happened when we fell away from God, how evil and blind we have become. Sin has caused women to believe that having a child is a “small” thing, there are bigger things to do. Sin has also caused women to be willing to murder to achieve and realize themselves. We must pray for these women who do not realize that their names are on another list, the list of God’s enemies, they are those who have murdered humans who bear the image of of God, they have struck out at God Himself.
Genesis 9:5-6 “Surely I will require your lifeblood; from every beast I will require it. And from every man, from every man’s brother I will require the life of man. 6 “Whoever sheds man’s blood, By man his blood shall be shed, for in the image of God He made man.”
May God grant these women repentance.
As I read this article and in particular the statement above, I was reminded of another woman’s attitude about having children:
Genesis 30:1 “Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, she became jealous of her sister; and she said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die.”
Here as well, death and childbearing are joined but in the exact opposite way, in Rachel’s mind she would rather die than not have children, these 5000 women would rather someone die than for them to bear children.
Of course, Gloria Steinem (another signatory) and other feminists would say that Rachel was a victim, a victim of a patriarchal society that convinced her that her life had no meaning without children. To the feminist mind, Rachel was blind and they see. Shouldn’t it concern the feminist that their “vision” requires the mangled bodies and shed blood of innocent children? As I watch my wife near the delivery of our fifth child I give thanks to God for a woman who has been granted to see what God intended womanhood to be. Feminists may call my wife a victim but the Scriptures call her blessed.
I do not say the following lightly but let us be careful to note another difference between Rachel and the female murderers of the abortion era, Rachel is in heaven. The 5000 women (and the countless others who are not included in this article) unless they repent, will perish, separated forever from the Lord. The Bible could not be more clear:
1 John 3:15 “…and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.”
To those whose thinking is not based upon the Word of God my comments might seem extreme. In a sense, I cannot deny they are, God’s truth and His judgments are extreme, eternally extreme. God is merciful and forgives even murderers. But as I think about the untold millions of murdered children and the arrogance of these women in flaunting their evil, I cannot refrain from calling them wicked and warning them of the punishment of hell.
Dear God,
Please cause the boasts of these women to turn to mourning that they might be saved. Open our eyes to see that abortion is an attack against You. Thank you for Jesus, thank You that great sinners like me are made righteous in Him.

Proverbs 16:25 “There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.”
It is very troubling to watch the vast majority of humanity heading toward eternity convinced that the truth is whatever they believe it to be. The devil has cast a powerful, damning spell over the hearts and minds of men which deludes them into thinking that truth begins within them.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
The majority of men believe that sincerity is the qualifier for eternal life. The world’s doctrine of salvation teaches that the specifics are irrelevant, all that matters is sincerity to whatever you believe to be true. Our blindness is so great that no one (until God enables them) sees that they are not really sincere to their own truth, we are all hypocrites even to our self-made religion proving that we have deified self and the flesh.
How is it that a person can hear conflicting claims to truth and maintain that both can save? The doctrine of sincerity. Most people will hear the claims of the world religions in the course of their life. Most have heard Christianity’s claim that Jesus is the Son of God and Messiah while also hearing Judaism claim that He is not. Judaism teaches that righteousness with God can and must be obtained through our obedience to God’s Law. Christianity in response claims that no one can be made righteous through their obedience and that forgiveness and salvation had to be purchased for us by God’s Son, Jesus. How is it that a person can hear these two contradictory claims and yet believe that both will go to heaven? Because they believe that sincerity is what God is concerned with.
Proverbs 16:25 is the Bible’s warning to man that it is possible to be sincerely wrong. Truth is not determined by what seems right to us, truth is found in God Himself and is revealed by God. If what I believe differs from what God has revealed I will be damned no matter how sincerely I pursued my system of belief.

Genesis 45:8 “Now therefore, it was not you who sent me here but God…”
I am reading my children the book of Genesis in the evenings before they go to bed. I was caused to pause in my heart last night as I read the children verse 8 when Joseph states, “Now therefore, it was not you who sent me here but God…” It was one of those times when the Scripture stands you up and speaks loudly and makes you think.
To the heart devoid of faith Joseph’s statement makes no sense. Of course it was Joseph’s brothers who sent him to Egypt right? They were the ones who threw him into a well and then drew him out and sold him to Midian traders heading to Egypt, this story has human agency written all over it.
