Why the Bible condemns homosexuality: “Male and female He created them”…

Posted by Gary on July 6, 2015

Genesis 1:26-28 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply…”

In the debate over homosexual marriage we hear again and again that sexuality is a personal matter. According to LGBT advocates, it is hateful, bigoted and homophobic to insist that there is one truth and standard for human relationships and sexuality. “What business is it of yours who I love and have sex with?” Is a common refrain. “We love each other and you have no right to tell me who I can love or not love” is another. Woe to the false shepherds and shepherdesses: God’s view of homosexuality…

Posted by Gary on June 30, 2015

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man — and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,  31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” (Romans 1:18-32 18)

“And the LORD said to me, “The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart.”(Jeremiah 14:14)

Five Supreme Court justices have spoken for the nation and have declared that homosexual marriage is the law of the land. The celebrations continue and we are told that we now have “equality” of marriage. We may now have legal equality but the outcome of a union of a man with a man or a woman with a woman is not equal to the male with female union as I have contrasted here.

The legal/political world has spoken. The world of music, art, film and sports have bomarded us for years with the message that homsexuality is moral behavior. But what does God think about homosexuality?

A call to introduce the term “Christophobe” into the public debate on homosexuality

Posted by Gary on April 9, 2014

The default reaction of people who cannot defend their belief or actions on their merits is to disparage those who contradict or condemn their position. We have seen this done quite effectively by those from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual (LGBT) community for some years. The aspersion “homophobia” is drawn like a knife and stuck into every person who condemns homosexuality regardless of the basis for their opposition but  this is especially so against Christians who use the Word of God as the basis for their condemnation.

Ignoring God by focusing on Phil Robertson

Posted by Gary on January 22, 2014

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.”

Some time has past since Phil Robertson’s interview with GQ magazine and all the stir that followed it linked to Phil’s comments about homosexuality. In case you have forgotten the comment that caused the outrage here it is:

“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men, … Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

In response, A&E immediately suspended Phil from the show and many organizations most prominently, GLAAD condemned Phil’s statements. For days on end, Phil Robertson and his comments were the focus of the media. The focus was quite slanted, the southern Bible thumper and his “rant” (did you notice how many times the word “rant” was used?). Did you also notice the frequent application of the label, “homophobic”? I have often wondered why people who condemn Bible believing Christians are not labelled “Christo-phobic”? But that is for another post.

It is almost impossible to imagine any more attention given to Phil Robertson than was given. But to me it was notable that the most important thing of all in the whole matter was avoided and that was God’s warning. Tons of emphasis on the man who made the comment and horror that homosexuality was condemned but no attention at all to the warning from God’s word that we not deceive ourselves.

Now how could that be? (President Obama’s claim that gay marriage strengthens families)

Posted by Gary on May 15, 2012

Genesis 1:27-28 “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth…”

Well, at least he is finally being honest…we all knew that President Obama was a champion of sodomy but until now for the reason of political expedience, he has walked the wire. Finally, his political life and his real views serve each other.

This week the President has declared that, “Gay marriage doesn’t weaken families, it strengthens families”. We would ask the President, “How can gay marriage strengthen families when it cannot create families”? This is the marvel isn’t it? For there to be a “family” a gay couple must pilfer from the union of a man and a woman for their “union” can produce nothing but disease and death.

Not only this, if homosexuality were to be embraced wholesale (as we can advocate for male and female with no harm coming to humanity) there would be no more families for sodomy practiced wholesale by humanity would lead to extinction. Sodomy leads to extinction and would end families, yet it strengthens families! This must be the new math.

An encouragement/reminder for Kirk Cameron

Posted by Gary on March 6, 2012

I wanted to take a moment today in the midst of all the furor to encourage my brother Kirk Cameron (no, we’ve never met). I am grateful for the faithfulness to God’s truth Kirk demonstrated during his recent interview with Piers Morgan. It takes faith and the courage faith produces to speak truth in these days as America becomes Sodom.

With whose permission? (Delaware’s same sex union law)

Posted by Gary on December 30, 2011

Acts 5:29 “But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.”

imageAs of New Year’s Day 2012, same sex civil unions with the permission of the State of Delaware become possible. We are quite aware of the rejoicing that will take place as many declare that the state has given them this long awaited legal privilege. Governor Markell has spoken, speaking of the law he said…

“…it serves the greater good to speak out and oppose bias, prejudice or outdated laws that ‘lessen any one of us.’”

It appears that being judgmental isn’t wrong for some people. Apparently it isn’t wrong to call people who hold the Bible as the Word of God, “biased”, “prejudiced” and “outdated”. Sorry, a slight digression, back to the matter.

The State of Delaware has granted permission for people of the same sex to join together in union and has made a moral declaration that this union ‘serves the greater good”. But we have a dilemma, God has said otherwise. God has not permitted such unions but forbidden them, He has not called them good but sinful:

Contrasting kisses

Posted by Gary on December 23, 2011

       image    image

This past week the world seemed to rejoice as two females kissed each other in the traditional “first kiss” as one sailor chosen by raffle is selected to greet and kiss a loved one first upon arriving in port. It would seem that our President, his administration and the armed services would have us believe that the embrace of these two females is the moral equivalent of the long famous sailor and nurse kiss which took place on V-J Day in 1945.

If you doubt there was anything intentional here, the media and those in the LGBT community are touting this as “The kiss heard round the world”. World, here is the message: America is shedding the shackles of its Christian, moral foundings and we have finally seen the light. We have made a discovery (what it is, I don’t know) that proves that all our former laws against sodomy were wrong. Not only this, but we are correcting virtually every nation before us in every age that condemned this behavior. They have all been wrong for thousands of years and America under the Obama administration is setting humanity right.

President Obama is determined to have sodomy acknowledged as the moral equivalent of the God ordained male-female relationship. We recently learned that the Obama administration will use U.S foreign aid as leverage against countries that outlaw homosexual behavior. If you take a moral stand against this behavior forbidden by God, that condemns itself with disease and death and would lead to extinction if we all embraced it, the U.S. government will not give you financial aid. Truly we are governed by sons of darkness.

The world holds two photos before us, a man and woman on the left and two women on the right and insists that they are moral equivalents but are they? Let’s see…

Governor Jack Markell and state legislators lead Delaware and our nation into sin

Posted by Gary on May 20, 2011

Proverbs 29:2“When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.”

Romans 13:1“Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.”

The Bible declares that the rulers and authorities of this world are put in their place by God and are put there by Him to make sure that His law is established and honored in society. These leaders are given authority by God for His glory and truth, not for their own purposes. Last week our Governor, Jack Markell signed into law same sex civil union legislation that is contrary to God’s holiness and word.

We are told that this is a dramatic step forward in fairness and equity…only fallen, rebellious creatures can view sin against God as a step forward. Our state legislators have looked to their own thoughts above the thoughts of God who has granted them their offices. God put them there to represent Him, yet they have represented themselves and the wishes of constituents who do not revere God.

What will our governor and state legislators do when they are brought to finally realize that their accountability is not to those whose votes they may have won through these actions but to God?

Sexual reassignment or How I became the first Martian

Posted by Gary on June 11, 2009

Isaiah 45:9 "Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker– An earthenware vessel among the vessels of earth! Will the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you doing?’ Or the thing you are making say, ‘He has no hands ‘?”

MSNBC reports today that Chastity Bono (daughter of Sonny and Cher) is “undergoing the process to go to female to male”. This “process” has a very interesting and revealing word attached to it, “reassignment”.

Now let’s ponder things just a bit. For someone to be reassigned, they must first had to have an initial assignment. Where does the first assignment of one’s sexuality come from? Well, isn’t it from God? None of us chooses our gender, nor did our parents. Being born male or female is a decision of the Lord God.

Did God make a mistake when He assigned us our gender? If it would have been better for us to be the other gender wouldn’t God have done that from the very beginning? Is not a person’s intentional reassigning of their gender a statement that God did not know what He was doing when He gave the first assignment?

Don’t misunderstand me, I am not picking on Chastity, she is to be pitied and prayed for. But know this with a certainty, this increasingly common practice of changing gender (which I hate to tell some of us, does not change anything no matter what surgeons and legal documents seem to accomplish) is nothing more than an act of raw rebellion against the Lord God.
